Hello all! For anyone who might be interested, I’m seeking another Beta Reader or two to look over the manuscript for my next book with Thornapple Press, Carry On: Unpacking Your Internalized Transphobic and Queerphobic Baggage. This process would need to occur over the next month, between now and November 30, 2024.
A few things to note:
- I’m looking for individuals who identify as trans, nonbinary, gender nonconfomring, or queer.
- This is a non-fiction, queer self-empowerment book. Please do not volunteer if these are not genres that you typically enjoy or are interested in.
- It is an early version of the book. Not the first draft but also not the final one. It’s gone through the first round of professional edits.
- I am only looking for substantive feedback around the tone, overall flow, and whether or not it achieves what it sets out to do. Please do not focus on editing or proofreading as I already have editors that I am working with.
- The book is 45,791 words. This amounts to 154 pages in Google Docs (roughly 230-ish printed pages not including the Foreword, Glossary, and Further Reading sections).
- The subject matter, because it is dealing with the harm and trauma caused by internalizing bigotry, can be heavy at times and some content may be triggering to read.
Beta Readers for this title will receive a free physical copy of it upon release (which is currently slated for 2026), and will be given a shout-out in the book’s acknowledgements.
Should this be something you’d like to do, please email me at [email protected] with your name, age, and why you are interested in beta reading the book.
Thank you for your consideration!
