Workshop: Parent’s Guide to Online Queer Youth Culture

My fourth workshop of the year with OutSaskatoon will be running this upcoming Friday, November 7th, from 6:30 to 8:00 PM! It’ll be held in person, hosted at 201-245 3rd Avenue South, focusing on what parents of 2SLGBTQ+ youth need to know about their children’s online activities.

In today’s digital age, young people spend much of their time online, and navigating this space can sometimes feel overwhelming for parents. There is a lot to know in regards to issues around privacy, communication, and consent. This workshop will provide practical strategies and tools to help you:

  • Learn ways to discuss consent in relationships and sexual activity with openness and respect,
  • Better understand your child’s online activities and digital world,
  • Discuss tips for navigating challenging conversations with 2SLGBTQ+ youth,
  • Explore how to talk about personal boundaries.
